Reusch Serie A G1 Ortho-tec Goalkeeper Gloves
The Reusch Serie A model has been one of the most popular Reusch gloves in the last few seasons. That speaks for itself.
The Serie A gloves feature the roll finger cut, loved by many keepers in the UK.
The classic all white design has also been incredibly popular. Simple appearance, top quality goalkeeper glove technology.
Strap: Wrist bandage – wider full strap with textile
Reusch are famous for the amazingly high level of detail they include in all their products. The goalkeeper gloves wrist strap is a great example of this. The standard Reusch strap on the Magno range features a special area designed to leave room for printing your name on, as well as a really nice feature at the end of the strap which allows you to take the gloves off easily (which as all goalkeepers know – is not easy!)
‘Ortho Tec’
Reusch ‘Ortho Tec’ is Reusch’s name for their unique version of goalkeeper glove finger and hand protection.
Finger and hand protection is now one of the most important keeper glove technologies around, and Reusch’s Ortho Tec is considered by many keepers to be one of the best.
The Reusch finger protection system uses special hard spines in the back of every finger in the gloves, which flex forwards to allow the fingers to bend naturally, but won’t flex backwards. This stops the football bending your fingers back too far – giving you that extra support when the natural strength of your fingers fails you.
The finger spines are like a knee joint: it flexes one way, but when your leg is straight it won’t bend back any more.
Remember that with Reusch gloves featuring Ortho Tec protection, the spines can normally be taken out of the gloves, so anybody who doesn’t want the extra hand protection can just remove the spines and play as normal.
The other really good thing about the Ortho Tec protection is that the spines can be taken out all together, or one by one. So if you feel you need a bit more flexibility in your little finger, for example – just take out the spine.
‘Catch Control’
With ‘Catch Control’ Reusch incorporates a new type of memory foam into the palm. This absorbs the power of the football better and helps to stablise the hands to improve catching.
‘Air Vent System’
Nobody likes sweaty gloves!
The Reusch ‘Air Vent System’ uses a light mesh fabric around the upper hand of the goalkeeper gloves – the fingers and the edge of the hands – that allows air to flow through the gloves and keeps the gloves fresh.
Air Vent isn’t really the ideal solution for cold and wet weather, for this reason. But for goalkeepers looking for lighter weight gloves, and for gloves for mild and warmer weather, the Reusch Air Vent System is a great feature.
Palm: ‘G1 Ultra Soft Catch Control’
Put simply, the G1 foam is Reusch’s best goalkeeper glove palm for dry and damp conditions. It’s the absolute top quality professional foam – the best they have ever made.
“Pure grip and maximum ball control” – the words of Reusch.
The G1 foam is a microporous palm material, making the foam incredibly soft, and also slightly elastic. In most conditions it keeps its fantastic qualities.
The G1 Catch Control palm, special memory foam in the back of the palm further helps to absorb the power of flying shots towards goal, “creating a mould at the moment of impact”.
With the most powerful shots, it’s critical to spread the power of the ball over a wide area, so that the ball can be better controlled and caught. That’s exactly what the memory foam does.
Reusch G1 latex foam – almost without doubt one of the best goalkeeper glove palms ever made.
